An eight minute video presentation covering a brief history of Eladetta Walauwa Kandy followed by a tour of the premises will be made available to all in-house Guests. Such tours can be organized for external Guests through appointment only.

The garden is perfect for a quiet, pleasant stroll or for reading, writing and painting; while the surrounding areas including the paddy-field bunds are ideal for hiking and biking.

A guided tour of the garden and the surrounding estate which includes the Robert Knox monument and bathing spout and paddy fields can be arranged in coordination with the Management. During such tours, it’s important to be aware of the natural surroundings. Insect repellent, sunscreen and a comfortable pair of covered shoes is recommended. Within the property, a Horticultural Project is in operation where foliage is collected weekly and exported giving employment to the villagers. On a day the packaging is in operation, visitors can have a first-hand view of the process. Organically grown Spices are harvested during its season. A bee-keeping project is also in operation.
